Rear End Collisions

Jury verdict in slow speed rear end collision
Suit filed in District Court of Dallas County.

We represented a machinist who was rear ended on his way to work on Loop 12 Walton Walker. There was only minimal damage to the trailer hitch of our client’s van and no damage at all to the defendant’s car. The client developed a cervical herniated disc and underwent neck fusion surgery 18 months later. The defendant’s insurer disputed causation of the neck condition and offered only a nuisance value settlement. The jury awarded damages, to which the court added prejudgment interest. The defendant’s insurer elected to pay its policy limits rather than pursue an appeal.
