Unsolicited Calls
Never employ a lawyer who makes unsolicited direct contact with you by phone, mail, personal visit or otherwise. It is illegal and unethical for an attorney or anyone on the attorney's behalf to do so unless you are a relative or former client or unless you have requested the personal contact. Beware of strangers, even doctors or chiropractors, who attempt to steer you to a particular lawyer (although it is not uncommon for a treating physician to point out that someone in your situation needs legal representation).
