The Dallas Bar Association Lawyer Referral Service, www.dallasbar.com, or 214-220-7444, can usually put you in touch with an pre-screened attorney who has experience in the general field in which you need help. The lawyer must be a member of the Dallas Bar Association and must maintain proof of legal malpractice insurance coverage.  There is no requirement that the lawyer be board certified. For a short office consultation the lawyer may ask you to pay a $20 fee, which will be forwarded to the bar association. If the lawyer accepts your case  portion (a little less than 10%) out of the fees later paid by you will also be remitted by the lawyer to the association.
